HORIZON was initiated by Maciej Marczyński, Piotr Płóciennik, Bartosz Pyrczak and Sebastian Zaprzalski. The magazine tells the stories of people connected to technology through their journeys, passions and need to explore – both new places and digital worlds.

The horizon became a metaphor for the meeting of two worlds. Just as land meets sky in a landscape, the exploration of physical space in the magazine connects with pushing the boundaries of technology. It is a goal that moves with every step and encourages the journey to continue.

We embedded this idea in the way the magazine is read. An issue begins underground, then moves towards the surface and leads progressively higher – into open space, highlands and mountains. Pagination shows the altitude above sea level, turning each page into another stage of the climb.

The HORIZON magazine branding included the name, logo, visual identity and publication design. Layouts, typography, pagination and animation develop the same journey between the physical and digital worlds, building a coherent visual language for the magazine.
