PIX.HOUSE was founded in Poznań’s Łazarz district in 2015 as a grassroots space for documentary photography. A former video rental shop was transformed into a gallery, an educational studio and a meeting place. In 2025, PIX.HOUSE celebrated a decade of activity with a three-day programme of exhibitions, workshops and talks, combined with the opening of a new location.

The theme “Identity Document” refers to a document that clearly confirms who we are. Yet PIX.HOUSE’s identity is built from photographs, books, exhibitions, workshops and relationships between people. The archive became the material of the identity – a self-portrait assembled from the place’s own traces, showing its maturation and the world it observed over a decade.

Hundreds of photographs form the letter X – the Roman numeral ten and a symbol already present in the PIX.HOUSE name. From a distance, they create an anniversary symbol; up close, the images regain their own stories. Empty frames leave room for images missed, absent or yet to be created. An interactive gallery lets visitors enter the symbol and discover individual photographs forming PIX.HOUSE’s identity document.

We developed the anniversary identity across an information campaign, printed and digital posters, social media communication, animations and small promotional items. In print, a decade is condensed into a single symbol, while in digital channels the system uses archival photographs and the variable structure of the letter X.
